Investing in Spaces and Places Funding – Coddington Village Hall

March 18th, 2025

Coddington Village Hall received one of our Investing in Spaces and Places grants for £7,500, via Asda Newark. Their goal was to raise funds to repair and refurbish their kitchen area.

Coddington Village Hall charity owns and manages the historic village hall, which is used by locals for a variety of activities, such as Brownies, history groups, art classes, bee keeping courses, ballroom dancing, and much more.

Their previously donated, second-hand, kitchen units had become tired and were in need of replacement but also needed removing in order to make repairs to solve a mice problem.

Asda Foundation’s funding covered the costs of new units and appliances, enabling the group to complete their project.

Asda Foundations funding has meant that the kitchen could be totally refurbished, providing a modern, welcoming space for the community to use. I really enjoyed getting involved with the painting and decorating – it looks brilliant!

The completion of this project has widened their capacity and ensures they will be able to host community groups as well as paid-for occasional events like weddings. Bookings ensure the group can raise funds, which supports the group in keeping the building running, benefitting local residents, groups and businesses.
