We are excited to announce that we have awarded over £1 million in funding to 73 community projects across the UK through our Local Community Spaces Fund, helping improve and refurbish vital spaces where local people can come together, access support and build stronger community connections.
Grants of up to £20,000 have been awarded to a wide range of grassroots organisations and charities, with funding supporting essential repairs, refurbishments and upgrades to community spaces. Projects include improvements to community centres, youth facilities, food banks and other local venues that provide important services and activities for people of all ages.
The need for these spaces has never been clearer. More than half of the groups we have funded identified loneliness and isolation as one of the biggest social issues facing their communities, while 79% said community spaces play a key role in reducing isolation and bringing people together.
Community spaces are often at the heart of local life, providing safe and welcoming environments where people can connect with others and access support when they need it most.
